Everest view trek is a short Everest trekking for superb view of Everest and a close look at Sherpa culture.This is an ideal trek for those who have short holiday or for those who want to see Everest as well as experience the Sherpa culture without climbing high.Our trek starts with a spectacular mountain flight to Lukla , Nepal's busiest mountain airstrip at 2800m, which serves as the gateway for Everest region. From Lukla, our Everest view trek continues through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park, with pine forests, rhododendron flowers and an abundance of wildlife to Namche Bazaar (3440m) . A day of rest is necessary in Namche in order to get acclimatized to higher altitudes. The following days trekking will bring you to the Tengboche monastery at 3860m which is one of the highlights of Everest view trek. Most expedition groups to Everest seek the blessing from the Lama of this monastery. Every year Mani Rimdu festival in Tengboche monastery is a spectacle not to miss. This is the most famous monastery in Everest region and commands a superb view of Everest and other mountains of the region; hence the trek to Tengboche monastery is termed as Everest view trek. Tengboche is reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m), Amadablam and their neighboring peaks. Similarly, a visit to Syangboche will offer you perhaps the most stunning view of Everest and other Khumbu mountains in the whole Everest region .It will be an unforgettable day of your trek.
In Khumjung , the biggest of Sherpa villages in Khumbu region , you will get an opportunity to see the Sherpa culture and their astonishing traditional life style, Buddhist monasteries, Hillary school and the famous Yaks , if not Yeti. Trekking down to Lukla from where you will take a short flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying the last views of the awe-inspiring Himalayan range and its people. In Kathmandu , we will celebrate your memorable trek with a farewell Nepali dinner with cultural programme.
It is a lodge to lodge Everest trekking , accompanied by our trekking guide . Your belongings will be carried by our porters or yaks. You just carry your light day pack during the day. We use the lodges for sleeping and eating. Alternatively we also organise full board camping treks for many of our groups if you want it that way.
Itinerary
- Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Our staff will give you our traditional welcome and you will be transfered to hotel on private vehicle - Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour.
Guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, including Bouddhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple,Kathmandu Durbar square and Swoyambhunath stupa.We take you to Bouddhanath stupa to show you 1500 years old stupa, the biggest in the world. Loaded with prayer flags and Tibetan pilgrims, it is an intoxicating place. The Swoyambhunath stupa is even older and commands a superb view of Kathmandu city and the Himalaya.Kathmandu Durbar square is where Nepal's finest temples and palaces are found.In the old Hindu temple of Pashupatinath you will get opportunities to meet the Sadhus and see Hindu cremation rituals among other interests. - Day 03: Fly to Lukla & trek to Phakding (2640m)
Take early morning , short spectacular mountain flight to Lukla with your guide. Meet your other trekking crew in Lukla and start your Everest view trek.Overnight in lodge in Phakding. - Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m)
It is an uphill hike and the hardest day in your trek. Trekking slowly and stopping frequently for photographs, we take lunch on the way, cross a long suspension bridge over Dudhkoshi river and finally reach Namche Bazzar.Namche is the headquarter of Everest region, an active mountain village where you will get almost everything you will wish as a trekker- shops, restaurants, a bakery, hotel with hot showers and electric power, trekking gears , and even internet facilities . - Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazzar(3440m)
Accommodate your body to high altitude of Namche as you have gained much height previous day.Walk aroud the interesting Sherpa bazzar , if it is saturday you will be able to watch the colourful flea market with villagers coming from day long walk to buy or sell their products.You can also do a short hiking to a hill above Namche early mornig.The view of Everest and other Khumbu Himalaya from here is one of the most stunning scenery in the world. - Day 06: Trek to Thame (3800m)
Enjoy the view of Khumbu himalaya from different angles as you trek to Thame . Thame is the village of the famous Sherpa mountaineers.This is one of the highest Sherpa village and a good place to see their culture. - Day 07: Trek to Khumjung (3780m)
Khumjung is the biggest Sherpa village in Everest region.You will see the beautiful Khumjung monastery , Edmund Hillary school, Yaks and Sherpa farm land and their vibrant culture.A visit to Syangboche will reward you with one of the most amazing close view of Everest and other Khumbu mountains. - Day 08: Trek to Tengboche (3860m)
Tengboche is the biggest and most important Buddhist monastery sitting majestically on a hill above Dudh koshi valley. The view from here is one of the best in Everest region. It is a great place to see the sunrise and sunset over Everest or watch the Buddhist culture and relax or hike around. - Day 09: Tengboche rest and explore around.
- Day 10: Trek to Namche.
- Day 11: Trek to Lukla.
- Day 12: Fly to Kathmandu , free day to relax or shopping
- Day 13:
Can serve as spare day incase flight cancellation at Lukla airport due to weather, a usual case in some months. Otherwise , free time to explore Kathmandu on your own . Farewell Nepali dinner with cultural show in the evening. - Day 14: Fly Home.
